📖 About the Artist
Raoul Lachenal, son of the renowned ceramist Edmond Lachenal, was active in Paris from the early 1900s. A major figure of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco ceramics movement, he developed his own language—often inspired by Far Eastern and Islamic motifs, combined with innovative glazing techniques.
Today, his works are held in numerous museum collections including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris) and the Victoria & Albert Museum (London).
