This is a beautiful, rare and antique oyster plate from the Longwy faïencerie, “Bengali” model.
The enameled decoration features birds and branches.
There are seven compartments, one for sauce and six for shells. The mark on back was used during the Art Deco period 1920-1930).

Longwy "Bengali" Majolica Scalloped Oyster Plates are a beautiful example of 19th-century French pottery. The Longwy factory, established in 1798, became famous for its distinctive majolica ware and enamel faience. The "Bengali" pattern is one of the notable designs produced by Longwy, characterized by vibrant colors.

The enamel plate is in good condition with some normal signs of ages, to note a small lack of enamel.
