Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) Art Deco Bronze Crucifix - Modernist Cubist Christ Sculpture

A rare and powerful modernist bronze crucifix by the renowned artist Jean Lambert-Rucki. This piece is a perfect example of his contribution to the 20th-century sacred art revival, blending Cubist influences with profound expressive minimalism.

In line with many of his religious commissions, the Christ figure is unsigned but bears all the unmistakable stylistic hallmarks of Lambert-Rucki’s hand: the elongated torso, the geometric anatomical details, and the poignant tilt of the head.

Artist Biography:
Jean Lambert-Rucki was a pivotal figure in the Parisian avant-garde. Born in Poland, he moved to Montparnasse in 1911, befriending Modigliani and Soutine. A member of the UAM (Union des Artistes Modernes), he is famous for his collaborations with Jean Dunand and his unique ability to merge Art Deco elegance with primitive and cubist forms.
