French Antique Silver Metal Planter, Mascaron, Lion 19th

This 19th-century planter is in silver metal, featuring a rich, ornamental design. It is decorated with mascarons, finely carved grotesque or mythological faces that lend a dramatic and imposing character to the piece. Mascarons, often used in classical architecture, add a touch of mystery and grandeur here.

The planter rests on lion's paw feet, reinforcing the impression of robustness and majesty. The lion's paws, symbols of strength and nobility, are finely detailed, with clearly defined claws and a texture that imitates fur.

Although the piece is in excellent condition for its age, it shows slight deformations at the bottom, probably due to use over time. These minor imperfections in no way detract from the piece's charm; on the contrary, they add an extra layer of authenticity, testifying to its history and age. The silver-plated metal, though patinated by time, still retains a beautiful shine that highlights the details of the decorations.
