Beautiful antique photo locket crafted in solid silver with a gold-plated finish (vermeil), featuring an elegant heart shape and finely detailed raised decoration.
The ornate frame is decorated throughout with graceful scrolls, foliage and floral motifs. A lovely raised flower crowns the top of the locket, while a small openwork detail beautifully accents the pointed base of the heart.
The central compartment was designed to hold a small photograph, miniature portrait or personal keepsake. A small glass cover protects the photograph at the front.
The reverse retains its bone backing plate.
The mount is made of solid silver with gold plating, traditionally known as vermeil, and a hallmark is present on the suspension ring/bail.
