Beautiful antique photo locket dating from around 1900, with an elegant Art Nouveau botanical design.
The locket is crafted from gold-plated brass and surrounded by a finely detailed raised border of ivy leaves and small berries. This graceful naturalistic decoration is particularly characteristic of the Art Nouveau period and gives the piece a wonderfully romantic appearance.
The center features a slightly domed glass cover, originally intended to protect a photograph, miniature portrait or other treasured keepsake. The reverse is fitted with a bone backing plate held within the setting.
