A beautiful and rare glazed ceramic dish by the renowned French ceramist André Metthey (1870–1920), showcasing his exceptional mastery of color, glaze, and form.
The piece features a vibrant hand-decorated radial motif composed of feather- or palm-leaf shapes in deep cobalt blue, soft emerald green, and milky white, all set against a warm crackled cream ground.

This refined decoration radiates from a delicately patterned central medallion, creating a harmonious blend of symmetry and movement. The richly developed craquelure glaze—a hallmark of Metthey’s finest work—adds depth, texture, and a subtle antique charm.

Metthey’s ceramics are celebrated for their synthesis of Oriental influences, symbolist aesthetics, and French Art Nouveau sensibility. This dish exemplifies these qualities, offering both decorative beauty and historical significance.

A superb collector’s piece and an elegant accent for any Art Nouveau or early 20th-century ceramic collection.

Dimensions:
• Diameter: 8.85 in (22.5 cm)
• Height: 1.57 in (4 cm)

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No visible chips or cracks. The glaze and craquelure are original and intentional, typical of Metthey’s aesthetic approach.
